Frequently Asked Questions
1.) WHY ARE DISC JOCKEY’S SO EXPENSIVE?
When you put the price of your DJ in perspective and consider the impact that they will have on your company’s event, you begin to justify the price as an investment. The true professional disc jockey will price his services according to the value he is able to provide.
In the Baltimore area, the average cost for a vegetable platter is $8.50 per-person. Multiply that times an average corporate function with 150 people and the total comes to $1,225.00. Is the success of your event worth more than a veggie platter? A disc Jockey can make or break your celebration or event. Although it may appear that you are only paying for 4 hours, Matt Davis normally invests 8-15 hours on most corporate events. Consultations, meetings, music purchasing, editing, preparation, set-up and tear-down and other business related endeavors add up to the overall success of your event. You are investing in knowledge, experience and peace of mind.
2.) WHY ARE SOME DISC JOCKEY’S SO INEXPENSIVE?
Some DJ’s give bargain deals. Unfortunately, this is a case of "you get what you pay for."
Many DJ’s aren’t able to deliver what a true professional disc jockey should be able to offer. This means limited experience, cheap equipment, a limited music library, no back-up equipment and little or no advanced planning or training which can lead to major problems at your event. Most DJ’s have little or no training. They figure that if they can play a CD, they can run your company’s event. the industry is full of people who DJ part-time to make extra money. many companies charge low rates in order to get every job that comes their way and then they may even sub-contract your event to a part-timer who lacks the experience of the true pro’s. remember - when a company pays a dj they take a cut and then pay the dj even less! A professional disc jockey will realize their value and not need to survive by being a "bottom feeder."
3.) DO YOU USE PROFESSIONAL EQUIPMENT?
Using professional sound equipment (including professional disc jockey software and compact disc players) helps insure reliable service and a quality presentation. Matt Davis understands that you want the best performance for your money.
Matt Davis uses state-of-the-art equipment. Always crystal clear sound!
4.) WILL YOU PROVIDE AN EMERGENCY BACK-UP SYSTEM AT OUR EVENT?

Matt Davis arrives approximately 2 hours before your event begins. Set up and tear down time are included in the price.
